Hands On Austin is simply amazing! I injured my neck a week ago playing soccer. Three herniated discs, and more pain than I've ever experienced before in my neck. With a single visit to my Hands On LMT Patricia, the difference was immediately noticeable. She was able to loosen up my neck muscles in just the right way to allow everything to reset itself over the next few days. 5 days later everything is back in place and the pain is gone. I was blown away that we were able to achieve such great results after one session. Even better, Patricia took the time to share some of her knowledge and insights with me to explain other techniques I can use to care for my body. Hands On has earned a happy customer for life! Thanks so much for what you do! ...

After my doctor did a PRP procedure on my knee, he recommended I go to "Hands On" Therapy. I was not familiar with the Myofascial Release technique. After speaking with a couple patients who gave raving reports of their progress, I felt I was at the right place. The therapist explained the Myofascial Release technique to me and enteredmy case history into the computer- Every time I have an appointment I've been impressed that each therapist has already reviewed my case. She sees my progress from their very thorough records. After gentle hands-on treatments to release fascial restrictions and doing the exercises they prescribed for me, my knee area is stronger and the pain level has dramatically decreased. I'm very pleased with my progress. The office staff is also very efficient. Every appointment I've had has been on time, almost to the minute. Now that's amazing! A thank you to all at "Hands On" Therapy, ...

How do these folks do what they do? It is not magic, it is science administered by angels. For 3 plus years I have received the benefits of their greatness. One chronic SI Joint problem that had plagued me for most of my life has not visited me now for all of those 3 years. I am a very active yoga practitioner, an old long distance runner, cyclist, outdoor kind of guy that thinks he knows what is right about my body mechanics. A neck injury from a yoga practice caused my Medical Doctor to refer me to them. From absolutely no movement in my neck, significant pain with major impact to my work and my sleep, in a short amount of time, the skilled providers at Hands On solved the problems with my neck and most importantly they "Taught me what to do to prevent it form happening again". Hands On is about the cure. If you want it to just feel better, you can go here. If you want it to not only feel better, but to more importantly fix the underlying problem then this is "the only" place to go. Over the years I have shared these secret angels with others needing their help. Everybody's life gets better when they spend some time at Hands On Physical Therapy. ...

As I grow older, my body does too! I have shoulder, back and neck issues, as well as emphysema. I used to hurt day and night, couldn't sleep and was miserable. My specialist recommended Hands On and after my first visit I felt better. The whole idea of facial release, the benefits of improved posture, all the things I'm learning about my body and how to feel really well . . . amazing. Everyone at Hands On is professional, kind, helpful, supportive and concerned for my well-being. I wish I had discovered them when I was a child! ...

I started my therapy at Hands On a little over a year ago after picking them off of a list that my urologist gave me....thank goodness I picked them! I went to my urologist because I'd been having unexplained perineal, scrotal, and penis pain for about a year. I've had a varicocele in my left scrotum for 20 years, so I'd chalked the pain up to that, but the normal ways I dealt with that pain had not been working, so I booked the appointment. In addition, my father was diagnosed (and successfully treated) with prostate cancer at a very young age. So I figured that going to a specialist to get checked in addition to my normal physicals wouldn't be a bad idea. As I filled out the paperwork before my initial urologic appointment, I realized just how messed up I was. [...] My initial visit at Hands On left me with the idea that, over time, with their treatments and my own work at home, I could heal. My therapist explained a lot about the pelvic floor, what it contains, what it does, and how getting it to function properly would help me with my problems. My initial assessment included checking range of motion for pretty much my whole body, checking to see if my pelvis was aligned, checking for pain and tightness in my stomach and pelvis, and an internal exam to check the condition of the muscles within the pelvic floor. There was nothing uncomfortable about the assessment, and really, the whole process was an eye opener. I was overwhelmed with how little I knew about how all my muscles, organs, and fascia interacted with each other. How what I considered my "stomach muscles" could affect my pelvis. How pain in the penis or perineum might be referred there by a problem in another part of the pelvic floor. How my 40 year old hernia scar tissue might be causing issues within the pelvic floor. Most importantly, I learned about fascia and how all of these muscles, organs, and nerves are connected. Not only in the pelvic floor, but throughout my entire body. The therapists at Hands On have been successfully treating and coaching me in my healing ever since. My treatments have included internal and external myofascial release as well as instruction on stretches and internal work that I do at home. Lately, I've also started receiving dry needling from Jody and acupuncture from an offsite therapist, and I think these additional therapies have been a good complement to the myofascial work. Hands On has made a huge difference in my life over the last 6 years. My initial treatment was for severe back and leg pain. Subsequently over the years I have experienced problems caused from age and a car accident. The therapists were able to help with and in some cases alleviate problems where I thought my only recourse was surgery. I have had many types of physical therapy treatments ranging from the traditional to non-traditional throughout my life, but the myofascial therapy that I received from Hands On is the only one that ever made any long term difference for me. This is an organization that I have and will continue to recommend time and time again. Everyone from the therapists to the office staff are professional, personable. They all really care and invest themselves in helping find a solution to your needs. ...

As a long-time, extremely happy customer, I can't believe there aren't more reviews for HOPT.  This place is NOT your average PT clinic.  It is an absolutely AMAZING group of the most loving, caring, HANDS ON therapists you will ever come across.  HOPT uses myofascial release to work on restoring the connective tissue of the body.  I have been a patient here since 2004 for chronic pain conditions and this place truly makes me feel whole again each and every time I visit. Each wonderful therapist has their own speciality - some are gentle and soft and others work the muscles deeply with great strength. I won't name my favorite, because mine may not be yours.   It's all based on what you need and what is going on with your own body.  If you are in pain of any kind, I urge you to go there.  They will do everything they can to heal you inside and out. Once you try it, you'll never go anywhere else! ...

Physical Therapy / Myofascial Release testimonial - Courtney Emken

I have been a patient of HOPT for over 3 years now.  From the moment I stepped foot into HOPT I felt so welcome and at home.   It has been such a positive and fulfilling experience for me.  I have learned so much useful information about my body and myself since stepping in the door the first time. I came in with chronic pelvic pain and could barely be touched.  I have also been treated on a separate occasion for migraines.  Seems as though the more I go, the quicker I recover now because of what I have learned.  It’s so easy to get wrapped up in everyday life and become stressed.  Myofascial release always brings me back to center.  It always makes me feel better.  Sometimes having a session at HOPT is the only “Me” time I get during the day.  For a busy mom with a hectic lifestyle, myofascial release is the only thing that gets me back on track. I would highly recommend HOPT to anyone suffering from chronic pain.  The fact of the matter is myofascial release just makes sense!  Once your mind is in tune with your body, then I believe you can overcome any ailment.  And the therapists at HOPT teach you how to do that.  But, for me, it’s impossible to maintain on my own for a long period of time.  I can practice things I’ve learned at home, but if I am busy and out of sync, I can develop pain.  That’s why I keep coming back to HOPT!  It has truly been my saving grace and has changed my life.  Thanks to everyone who has been a part of my healing journey! Forever grateful, ...

So many things have impressed me about Hands On Physical Therapy that it really stands out. When I go to Hands On, I feel nurtured in a soothing, relaxed atmosphere. Every therapist on the team has a positive, caring, and compassionate attitude. In fact, so does the office staff. And whether I’m seeing my primary therapist or another team member who had a more convenient time slot, the inter-staff communication is excellent and the hand-off seamless. Perhaps most impressive is the cornerstone of their practice, the myofascial release approach to healing. It’s amazing! In each session the therapist checks with me on how I’m doing. Then he or she starts manipulating soft tissue for me—which gives me relief from day one. Once I achieve a level of release, I’m taught stretches and exercises that enable me to feel even more results. There are also myofascial stretching and spine stabilization classes available that are extremely useful and support both the healing process and long-term health. Another stand out is the level of expertise. The overall skill level of this practice is superior and the commitment to continuing education is evident. Regardless of whether I present with generalized pain or specific pressure on nerves, tendons, blood vessels, or muscles, my issue is quickly assessed and addressed. Best of all, the team is just as focused on the underlying causes of my symptoms as they are on alleviating the pain. Hands On Physical Therapy is an outstanding practice. I am truly grateful to Jody, Michael, and all of the team at Hands On. I feel they have given me back my quality of life. I would recommend Hands On Physical Therapy to anyone. ...

Myofascial Release testimonial - N. Dearborn

I was a new mom with a son I adored. I was excited about the journey we were on, but it had been two months and I was still having problems “down there”.  Problems that doctors don’t tell you about. Problems that are taboo amongst friends. Intercourse was unbearable because it was painful; it often ended in my tears and my husband’s hurt ego. I had such urgency to get to the bathroom and limited ability to hold it; I was having bladder and bowel accidents regularly. Once my cycle returned I was unable to use tampons; they either hurt too badly or fell out of place. I felt overwhelmed, embarrassed and broken. I placed the call to HOPT; it was a call that changed my life. I was always treated with respect and felt safe with every therapist I encountered, which was most important to me with such private matters. The therapists educated me as to why I was having all of these problems. The physical stress of carrying a baby and a difficult labor caused structural and muscle tone imbalance of my pelvis. Internal damage with sutures, and a stage three episiotomy and scar tissue associated with its repair, all contributed to the imbalances as well. Hands on external & internal work, off the body energy work, relaxation and visualization techniques, guided pelvic floor exercises, explanation of self treatment strategies to do at home, and education of proper body postures/ body mechanics all served to restore a neutral pelvic structure, proper muscle tone and strength to my body. I felt better with each & every session, and was having consistent improvements with all my symptoms. I graduated from therapy with a healed body & mind. I grew in ways I never expected. I had no more pain or problems, which was great. As a bonus I had a better understanding of my body. I learned to trust when something in my body didn’t feel right; and I now knew how to help myself. This growth allowed me to be a better mother. I am no longer broken. I know with every cell of my being that I could not have healed without the amazing therapists at HOPT (especially Erin and Jody), or their excellence in the John Barnes MFR technique. It is my firm belief that every woman would benefit from this type of work before, during, and after pregnancy. I know I cannot be alone in these post partum experiences. I share my story in hopes that women reading this may seek and receive help, and that we have more conversations on the topic: between friends, and more importantly between patients and practitioners. ...

I came to HOPT with a twisted body and pelvic rotations, up slips, and pain throughout my body.  I quickly found that my body responded positively to myofacial release therapy, and all the therapists at HOPT are truly amazing.  It's not an over night fix, but it can be a permanent one.  I now have a new pain free body and thus a new life.  I would give HOPT 10 stars on a 5 star scale. ...

Hands On Physical Therapy and Advanced Massage Therapy Clinic testimonial - Melissa Dupre

My first visit to Hands On Physical Therapy was about a year ago, and I can’t believe how much they helped and taught me. Not only did they alleviate my chronic pelvic pain, they worked with me to show me how I can improve the overall quality of my daily life. Yvonne and Laurie are consummate professionals who always treated me with kindness, dignity, and patience. They raised my awareness of my own body and gave me concrete strategies to lessen my pain. Even Chloe and Amanda in the office are warm, friendly, and efficient. I can’t recommend Hands On Physical Therapy highly enough.
